The Aggie coaching staff has long considered it a must to have 2 running backs in the 2015 class. This would not have been such a high priority had the Aggies not missed on taking a running back in 2014. On signing day last year, long time Aggie commit Varshun Nixon flipped to TCU. Although not a crucial blow due to the depth of Trey Williams, Tra Carson, and Brandon Williams, the coaching staff has been focused on bringing in 2 backs this time. Right on the heels of an official visit to Texas A&M, the two 5-star playmakers made their way to Austin today.
Kyler Murray committed to A&M on May 28, 2014 choosing the Aggies over the Oregon Ducks. Since then he has been considered one of the leaders of this Aggie class playing an important role in the commits of Kemah Siverand, Christian Kirk, and the once committed DaMarkus Lodge. While DaMarkus Lodge decommitted in September, Kyler has always remained solid to A&M. But now the two are in Austin together getting Charlie Strong’s best recruiting pitch. Outside linebacker Dwaine Thomas is the newest addition to Texas A&M’s 2015 recruiting class. At 6’3” 210lbs, the rangy and explosive athlete is simply a playmaker. In his HUDL film, he forces 6 fumbles on the first 6 highlights. These highlights are not just a flash in the pan. During his senior season alone, Thomas recorded 131 tackles and 7 sacks.
