JUCO National Signing day has come and gone for the Aggies with all 3 commits signing their letter of intent. Linebacker Claude George, safety Justin Evans, and wide receiver Damion Ratley will all enroll at Texas A&M in January and get a head start on the 2015 season.
Claude George is a 3-star recruit from Hutchinson C.C. in Kansas. The Louisiana Native is 6’3” 230lbs and plays very aggressive. Recruited by linebacker coach Mark Hagen, the 3-star prospect committed only one day after he was offered. George took his official visit to A&M for the Missouri game. His commitment gives the Aggies their 4th linebacker of the 2015 class, and he will have 3 years to play 2 upon his arrival to A&M.
Justin Evans is a 4-star recruit from Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. and is ranked as the top JUCO safety in the nation. He is 6’1” 185lbs, clocks a 4.48 second 40, and boasts a 32 inch vertical. Recruited by defensive back coach Terry Joseph, Evans had an offer list that included Georgia, Auburn, Nebraska, Ole Miss, and Baylor. With safeties Howard Matthews and Floyd Raven graduating, the only returning safety with a great deal of experience is Armani Watts. Evans has every opportunity to come in and be an immediate impact player for 2015. He will have 3 years to play 2.
Damion Ratley is a 3-star recruit from Blinn C.C. in Texas. He is also ranked the top wide receiver to come out of the JUCO ranks this year. He is 6’2” 210lbs, runs a 4.47 40, and has a 35 inch vertical. In only 8 games played, this JUCO product tallied 1,197 yards and 20 touchdowns. He gives the Aggies a serious perimeter and redzone threat and has every capability of making the same type of impact JUCO WR Josh Reynolds made last season. He will have 4 years to play 3 at A&M.
