2015 Schedule Released

Yesterday, Texas A&M’s schedule for 2015 was released on the SEC Network. By all appearances, this schedule is set up very favorably for the Aggies. A non-conference matchup against Arizona State to start the season should provide motivation and focus for the team and coaches throughout training camp. Then A&M returns to Kyle Field for some easier competition with Ball State and Nevada in back to back weeks. The Aggies begin conference play against Arkansas in Jerry World and follow that up with a revenge matchup against Mississippi State in College Station.

At this point, the Aggies will be into the meat of their schedule and needing a bye week. Well they get one on October 10th before facing Alabama at home. A trip to the Grove will give Aggie fanss a great away game to travel to. Following that Ole Miss matchup, the Aggies get 3 straight games at home against South Carolina, Auburn, and finally Western Carolina which will serve as senior night. The final two games of the season will be on the road with trips to Vanderbilt and LSU.

Opponent Date
Arizona St. (Houston) September 5, 2015

@Ole Miss October 24, 2015
South Carolina October 31, 2015
Auburn November 7, 2015
Western Carolina November 14, 2015
@Vanderbilt November 21, 2015
@LSU November 28, 2015

Final Notes and Observations

  • For the first time ever, Texas A&M will not play another school from Texas.
  • Despite this, Texas A&M will play within the state of Texas 10 of the first 11 weeks.
  • The Aggies only play 3 true road games (Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, LSU).
  • The road trip to Vanderbilt won’t happen again until at least 2026 and most likely longer than that due to the SEC’s cross division rotational schedule.
  • Texas A&M vs LSU is currently set for Saturday, November 28th but it could be moved to Friday, November 27th if CBS picks it up. It appears this game will not be played on Thanksgiving like their matchup this year.
