On Saturday, and luckily before the game started, the Aggies received a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland. The 2016 recruit is from Houston, TX and is the 3rd commit for his class joining OL Greg Little and CB Travon Fuller. Tyrie only shows offers from TCU, Kentucky, Louisville, and A&M, but he was drawing serious interest from several other schools including one 90 miles west of College Station.
Cleveland will only add to the Aggies wealth of tall receivers with his 6’3” height. He is currently listed as the 249th best player nationally and a top 30 player in Texas. And so far this season, he has had an impressive junior campaign. On 25 receptions, Cleveland has notched 474 yards (good for 19 yards per reception) and 7 touchdowns. His size and production will continue to keep the pipeline of wide receivers stocked full for Sumlin’s spread offense.
