A&M and LSU have been slotted to play on Thanksgiving Day for the 2014 season. After an Aggie loss to the Tigers in 2013, LSU will travel to College Station for a 6:30pm CT kick off. In a statement from Aggie Athletic Director Eric Hyman,
We are excited ESPN has decided to air this game in prime time on Thanksgiving and the atmosphere with 106,000 fans inside Kyle Field will be electric.
The game will be televised on ESPN and will directly compete with another game 90 miles west. At that same time, Texas will square off against TCU on Fox Sports 1. To say the A&M/LSU game will win the ratings battle would be an understatement….it won’t even be close.
Since A&M moved to the SEC, the Aggies and Longhorns have not played in any major sport during the regular season. Instead, the Aggies have added LSU to its end of season schedule. Meanwhile, Texas has arranged for a rotation of Texas Tech and TCU every other year so that they will always play in Austin on Thanksgiving Day.
