And just like that, Sumlin has snagged another one. DT Kingsley Keke chose to shut down his recruitment Wednesday morning and announce his commitment to the Aggies. Keke is 6’3” 290lbs. and is considered by most services as the second best defensive tackle in Texas behind Aggie commit Daylon Mack. Keke spoke about his excitement to play alongside the 5-star defensive tackle,
Another plus is being able to play with Daylon Mack because he’s one of the best defensive tackles in the nation. That would be great to learn from him and make me play even harder.
Both Rivals and ESPN list Keke as a 3-star prospect. However, his offer list was impressive as he was choosing from over 20 major schools including Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, and Missouri. According to 247’s Crystal Ball, Keke was an 80% Texas lean. His commitment to A&M is yet another head to head victory Coach Sumlin has over Texas. Keke went on to say,
This decision was very hard for me because I always envisioned myself going to Texas. I just thought Texas A&M was the best fit for me. They have good tradition; they’re a good school and I feel like they have a good 2015 recruiting class coming in. I think A&M will get the defense right and I think I’ll be able to help get it right with them.
