4-star A&M recruit Rodney Anderson has decided to open up his recruitment. His primary reason is that he believes other programs may suit his running style better. Anderson committed to A&M on August 6, 2013 but has recently taken a visit to Oklahoma. Besides OU, he is also showing interest in Oklahoma St., LSU, and Alabama. The Houston native is still considering the Aggies, but he wants to play out his recruitment and see where the best fit for him is.
The All-Purpose Running Back is one of the top players in the nation at his position. He checks in at 72 (Rivals), 80 (ESPN), and 132 (Scout) in the national rankings. This is a big loss for Sumlin as he definitely wants to take 2 running backs this upcoming year. A couple possible targets that A&M has already offered include Soso Jamabo from Plano West and Kirk Merritt out of Destrehan, Louisiana. Coach Sumlin could also make offers to Chris Warren or Tyreik Gray to help mitigate the loss of Anderson.
